From lockdown delivery to a rooftop on the cloth market

Ms. Phuong's didn't start on a rooftop. It started in lockdown, when the Market Bar team began frying fish and chips at home and sending it out across Hội An by delivery, at a time when there was nowhere in town to sit down and eat.

When the town opened back up, the fryers didn't stop. They moved upstairs, onto Terrace 2 of the old cloth market at Bạch Đằng and Hoàng Diệu, the same building where Market Bar pours the drinks. Same fish, same batter, now with a river view and a proper table to eat it at.
